Every five years, Jackson County Public Health, along with partnering organizations, completes a Community Health Needs Assessment, to better understand the overall health of Jackson County. As part of this process, the top health priorities are selected to address over the next 5 years, as part of our Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

The most recent Community Health Needs Assessment was completed in 2022, with four priorities selected to address in our 2023-2027 CHIP.

The Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is a guiding document which supports active engagement by community members and organizations in improving the health of Jackson County. It is a commitment by leaders within the public health system to improve the health of Jackson County by advocating for and directing resources towards health priorities and advancing strategies which support the chosen priorities.
