Environmental Health

In the spring of 2008, Jackson County added an Environmental Health program to the Public Health Department. The Environmental Health Sanitarian is responsible for the licensing and inspection of all restaurants, hotels, tourist rooming houses, bed and breakfast establishments, campgrounds, recreational-educational camps, temporary food establishments, and public swimming pools within the county.

All public facilities previously listed must obtain a license before opening for business.  Each facility is inspected annually to ensure that proper health and safety standards and state codes are being followed.
