Older Adult Physical Activity Programs

Jackson County Public Health also partners with the ADRC of Jackson County to offer physical activity classes to older adults from the Wisconsin Institute of Health Aging. We are proud to offer these evidence-based programs for free! These programs include:

  • Walk With Ease

    • The Walk With Ease program is designed to help individuals create a walking program that will instill confidence in their physical abilities, teach proper techniques for exercising, and create a habit of integrating physical activity into daily life.

  • Stand Up and Move More

    • The Stand Up and Move More program is designed for older adults who sit more than six hours per day. In this program, you will learn in a group of your peers and help each other identify strategies to stand up more often and for longer periods of time throughout the day.

  • Stepping On

    • Stepping On is a fall prevention program that brings together the life experience of its participants with the expertise of community professionals. Participants learn balance and strength exercises and also hear from a variety of guest experts on topics including home fall hazards, vision, medication management, sleep, and other topics to help reduce your risk of falling.
